machineispoweredoff.Forexample,ifaspecialpurposeconfigurationrequires

youtouseanindependentdisk,youmustpoweroffthevirtualmachinebefore

takingasnapshot.

 IfthevirtualmachinewascreatedwithWorkstation4deleteanyexisting

snapshotsorupgradethevirtualmachinetoWorkstation5.xorhigher.See

“ChangetheVersionofaVirtualMachine”onpage 94.

1 ChooseVM>Snapshot>Take Snapshot.

2Enterauniquename.

3 (Optional)Enteradescription.

Usethisfieldtorecordnotesaboutth

evirtualmachinestatecapturedinthe

snapshot.

4ClickOK.

Rename a Snapshot or Recording

Usethesnapshotmanagertochangethenameofasnapshotoritsdescriptionatany

time.

To rename a snapshot or recording

1 ChooseVM>Snapshot>SnapshotManager.

2 Selectthesnapshotorrecording.

3EditthetextintheNametextboxandclickClose.

Ifyourenameasnapshotforaclonedvirtualmachine,usetheDescriptionfieldto

spec

ifywhichvirt

ualmachinewascloned.
